You feel like shit is a website set up to help you get out of that funk/improve things just enough to not feel horrible and miserable all the time.  It’s amazing.

Whether you struggle with mental health problems all the time or whether this is a new/temporary state for you, this guide is an easy and judgement-free self-care tool.

PLEASE TRY IT OUT!  Really!  You just click through the questions to answer and follow simple instructions that in the end, ideally, will help you to feel more comfortable and stable on a daily basis.

Good luck!  Have fun!

Wow this self-care took is incredible.

I’m feeling ok right now and am about to settle into bed (but this was scheduled hence the early morning post) but I flipped through it for awhile just to see what it is like and holy crap it’s like a choose-your-own-adventure of self-care activities that not only aims to engage you in positive feel good behaviors but also tries to match its suggestions to your level of energy/ability/can even.

I think I am going to use this definitely when I am having a bad time but maybe also try to incorporate it into my life on at least a weekly if not a daily or semi-daily basis.

This is super super awesome!

Adding this to my resource list.

I LOVE this. Love this.

OMG. This. Changes. Everything.

Reblogging for my followers who might have trouble remembering whether or not they’ve taken their medicine!

OH MY GOD, THIS WILL HELP ME SO MUCH. I GET SO SCARED WHEN I DON’T KNOW IF I JUST TOOK MY MEDS TWICE.

THANK YOU, I’M ABOUT TO CRY.

Let me share with you guys a product that super helps me remember if I took my meds or not (because while the above is great, I still would manage to confuse myself):

They count as soon as you put the top back on. So if I don’t know if I’ve taken my medication for the day, I can check the cap to see how long ago I opened the container! It’s brilliant!

JFC THIS IS A GAME CHANGER.

I KNOW THIS IS MY ART BLOG BUT EVERYONE WHO TAKES MEDS SHOULD SEE THIS.

Don’t forget! ♥️

Medication Tracker

chronicreality:

So I have been meaning to make this for awhile, this is how I personally keep track of what medications I take, along with vitals, stand out symptoms, BMs, etc. This is going to be long because of the photos so I added a read more! I STRONGLY suggest this to anyone who is trying to find symptom triggers, who has memory loss, or just wants to give their doctor a clear cut picture of how their day to day life really is. It has been INVALUABLE to me. I use a “Moleskin Planner” but it could be adapted for any planner. I will probably pick a bigger one next year.

Hot shot of yours truly sporting my new #AxonOptics Migraine Glasses. #prettyinpink These are the Dalliance style with indoor lenses and pink frames. I am super-duper pumped for the opportunity to demo these glasses free for honest review through my membership with @chronicblogs
Be looking for my full review up on OnlyinthisHead.com in the next couple months!

In the last year, I’ve sat in roughly 30 different doctor’s offices and every last one used fluorescent lighting sources. As if these appointments weren’t painful enough!

Fluorescent lighting is a big trigger for not only my migraines but also my sensory issues.

The flickering and artifical brightness makes for misery business when trying to clearly communicate my needs. Something about those tubular beams of unnatural lighting activates my my brain fog something fierce! Since getting the chance to review these glasses, fluorescent lighting is a barrier I now succeed!

These glasses are the real deal!

Not only do they look super-duper cute but they also help me get through appointments without triggering my migraines, protecting my sensitive eyes from the assault of fluorescent lighting. At the same time, the lenses are not so dark people can’t see my eyes nor is it difficult to see while wearing them in lower lighting.

Just taking care of this small factor in my chronic illness life with ehlers-danlos makes a big difference overall in this journey!

I cannot recommend Axon Optic’s line of migraine relief glasses to others with lighting sensitives enough!

She has long, medium brown hair with a large grey streak in the front, parted to the side with the bulk of her hair laying along one shoulder. She is wearing a grey sweater and pink framed glasses with tinted lenses. She is looking up defiantly and the reflection of fluorescent lights are in the lenses. In the background is a blood pressure cuff attached to a cabinet with a computer underneath.]

While cleaning out my room I found a paper that my therapist gave me some time ago to deal with obsessive and intrusive thoughts. Sorry the paper is a little crinkled and stained, but I figured I’d post it in hopes that it will help someone like it helped me.

Here it is again with text for anyone who can’t see the picture

  • That thought isn’t helpful right now.
  • Now is not the time to think about it. I can think about it later.
  • This is irrational. I’m going to let it go.
  • I won’t argue with an irrational thought.
  • This is not an emergency. I can slow down and think clearly about what I need.
  • This feels threatening and urgent, but it really isn’t.
  • I don’t have to be perfect to be OK.
  • I don’t have to figure out this question. The best thing to do is just drop it.
  • It’s OK to make mistakes.
  • I already know from my past experiences that these fears are irrational.
  • I have to take risks in order to be free. I’m willing to take this risk.
  • It’s OK that I just had that thought/image, and it doesn’t mean anything. I don’t have to pay attention to it.
  • I’m ready to move on now.
  • I can handle being wrong.
  • I don’t have to suffer like this. I deserve to feel comfortable.
  • That’s not my responsibility.
  • That’s not my problem.
  • I’ve done the best I can.
  • It’s good practice to let go of this worry. I want to practice.

This is really helpful to me

the future is now

are people that lazy to need this

While I’m sure there are people too lazy to spin a fork, keep in mind people like this person who may be suffering from arthritis or a neurological disease or nerve damage or a thousand other conditions that might impair their ability to do things as simple as spin a fork to eat spaghetti.

These are used with people who can’t grip well:

This is for Parkinsons’s:

For people who can’t even bend their joints:

Here’s a product that guides your hand from your plate to your mouth

image

This one holds a sandwich

image

Like I get it. I used to see things like the fork and think “that’s fuckin’ lazy” or that product that holds a gallon and you just tip it and pour. But then I started working around the disabled and impaired and found out that these products aren’t meant for lazy people, they’re meant for people who need help.

So maybe next time you see something, instead of thinking “Wow, are people that lazy?” just be grateful that you’re able to do the things you do every day and take for granted, like being able to feed yourself and wipe your own ass because you have enough coordination and bendy joints to do it.

HEAR FUCKING HEAR

I have nerve damage and degenerating joints in my hands (I’m only 38 dammit) and I would cut a bitch for that spaghetti fork, people have no clue how hard that movement is, no fucking clue

for that same reason, those jokes about “they’re so dumb you gotta wonder who ties their shoes for them” that shit ain’t funny either

The inventer sells them in his web site: https://rcbproducts.com/

And the stainless steel model is 6$! Wow, not trying to rob people!

Hum, where can I get the very large handle-fork? Kinda need it…. (Arthritis SUCKS)

this place seeks all kinds of adaptive utensils, not just for eating but for cooking and meal prep too

okay if you suffer from anxiety, or depression, or even insomnia, or you just feel shitty all the time, listen up you little shit because what i’m about to say might just help you like nobody’s business

image

you see these motherfuckers right here? these crayons are like little sticks of wax joy that will never fail to help you in your time of need. these are your buddies right here. You don’t meed a million crayons like me, I just happened to buy these the other day for another project and then loved them so much. any crayons will do.

{colored pencils work too, but you want some crayons because that’s what works the best. don’t ask me why, but you feel 3000% better coloring with crayons than you do with colored pencils or even markers. IT BRINGS BACK THE CHILDHOOD INNOCENCE OR SOME SHIT LIKE THAT}

tl;dr just get some crayons i don’t even care what brand if you want to be a disgusting little shit go ahead and buy RoseArt you just need crayons.

okay, so it’s really simple. you just color. if you have a coloring book, awesome. if you don’t, look up some stuff on google and print it. get stuff that makes you happy, like your favorite disney princess or cartoon character. just type in something like “little mermaid coloring pages" and you’re good to go

image

now, here’s the best part. grab a crayon and just fucking go for it. don’t even think about anything else, just focus on coloring the picture however you want it to be and don’t stop until you’re completely satisfied with it. when you’re done with that one, color another one.

image

i promise, by the time you’ve finished coloring to your heart’s content, you’ll feel so much better. i have no idea why it happens, but coloring with crayons just lifts your stress away, even for a little bit. keep some blank coloring pages on hand and your box of crayons close to you for easy access should you really need it one day.

pro tip: when coloring, spill your crayons out

image

just take your time and spill all of them out from the box and then like run your hands over them and kinda mess the pile up because that shit is the most orgasmic feeling in the world i don’t know why but it just is

okay, i hope this helps. and if anyone looks at you funny or says that you’re too old to color with crayons, don’t get angry just pity them because they think that there’s an age limit to happiness and they obviously don’t remember how awesome it is to color so just offer them a crayon and if they don’t take it, well, sucks to suck

bringing this back because it’s the only thing that’s gotten me through this summer

Literally this is one of the most helpful things for me

Yep.  This works for me, and worked really well with many of my clients when I did social work.

They seem to be 2 for $15, and look really useful!

I need these

shoutout to folks who take medicine that could be deadly if taken too often or missed but who also have brainfog like a motherfucker especially. It’d be useful for lots of people, but in those cases especially.

Reblog for those who might benefit from these.
