Narfi and Vali Headcannons
They like to play hide and seek, but Sigyn always finds them.
They plan pranks on their father, but Loki always knows when to expect something because Sigyn starts to giggle.
They like to watch horror movies with Hela, but Vali covers Narfi’s eyes during the scary parts with a hoodie.
Narfi making a flower crown for Vali, who bashfully accepts it.
Narfi dressing up as a kitsune for Halloween and dragging Vali around in a werewolf costume.
Vali convincing Narfi to stay up stargazing. Narfi packs a picnic basket. They catch fireflies together.
Vali gently fixing the blankets for his brother, who’d kick them off in his sleep.
Tadaa! Narvi and Vali! The first designs I’ve ever come up with that I didn’t want to immediately delete 5 minutes after drawing ‘em.
Now, they are basically twins but for a couple things. First off, my headcanon is that Sigyn carried and had Narvi while Loki carried and had Vali. This led to a couple of differences- mostly with Vali.
There was a lot of speculation that Vali could potentially be more Jotun-like (i.e. bigger, giant and blue, carried in-utero longer), however the opposite happened. Vali was born in less time than a “normal” Jotun pregnancy, and, while he was indeed born blue (as was Narvi) he was very small. It seems he, like Loki, is more a Jotun runt than proper giant stock. Both Narvi and Vali’s skin changes closer to that of their mother’s as they grow older, but Vali retains- faintly– his Jotun markings, while Narvi loses all traces.Even though they’re pretty much the same age Narvi has a tendency to act as the “older brother” and always keeps Vali near. They’re very close and naturally very curious, which is both a good and bad thing because they also inherit Loki’s nose for trouble

An updated version of the shrine for Sigyn, Loki, Narvi, and Vali first featured here.
