- She is attested to as a Goddess of the Aesir.
- She is married to Loki.
- She had 2 sons by him, both of whom were taken from her in rather horrific ways. Vali – being turned into a vicious wolf by the other Gods as additional punishment for Loki’s role in Baldr’s death, who then turned on his brother Navi and ripped him to shreds. Worse, it was Navi’s entrails that were then used to bind Loki during his imprisonment.
- She stayed by her husband’s side for the entirety of his punishment, faithfully holding the bowl over his face to catch the venom as it dripped. Steadfast in her love for him.
It’s really hard to find any resources on Sigyn specifically. Even in the lore she’s only mentioned a handful of times – particularly in Völuspá (Poetic Edda) and Gylfaginning and Skáldskaparmál (Prose Edda).
When I come across additional resources on her I will definitely add them (you can also check out the current Wiki page on her).
